Ash turns up late to make his choice of Pokemon, so he only has one to pick from - the dreaded Pikachu. The professor warns him that Pikachu is a problem and a lightning user as well. Ash might be excited to be training his new Pokemon but Pikachu doesn't like him from the start. A run in with some rival Pokemon changes Pikachu's outlook though as he steps up to the challenge of using his lightning power to drive his rivals away.

When I first saw this, I wondered what it would be like as it isn't the usual anime that is done in the Japanese style or features Japanese characters. As it isn't what anime fans would expect, I figured it might need more of a look into. High school has two opinions for most of us; we hated it as we were bullied and would never fit in, or we loved it as we fitted in with our colleagues.
