</div><br></div><div><br></div><div>This novel picks up where the Quincie's Thousand Year Blood War left off. Now finally over, there is another antagonist to take over from where Ywach left off in Tokinada Tsunayashiro. He is secretly plotting to create a new Soul King. </div><div><br></div><div>As volume 1 in a series, the story can flit from one time period to another, yet mainly concentrates on Squad Nine's Lieutenant Shuhei Hisagi and it's Captain Kaname Tosen. Back several centuries ago, before Tosen was a Soul Reaper, he discovers his friend, Kakyo has been murdered and no one seems interested in capturing and sentencing the killer. </div><div><br></div><div>This for us who have read the manga and watched the anime is all we are aware of, now we have the chance to find out the full story. Tosen finds out her killer was from one of the five great noble clans and as such, untouchable by someone like him who isn't a Soul Reaper and can't get an audience with Central 46. Tosen can only think of revenge, but even that could prove almost impossible for a man who has no combat ability or standing. </div><div><br></div><div>This killer is already aware of his standing, having an over inflated sense of his own self importance, thinking nothing of killing his wife, leaves Tosen's blood boiling which didn't surprise me. </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

</div><br></div><div>Bleach: Can't Fear Your Own World 1 is a thick paperback with a well drawn cover of a handsome Shuhei Hisagi, an interior Fold-out Poster of him in full, while on the reverse, there is a more mangaesque version of him at leisure, which fans will love! <b>Fairy Tail Logo Necklace (Black)</b><br />
<b>Size: </b>3.5cm x 2.2cm<br />
<b>Material: </b>Metal<br />
<br />
The reason I went for this colour Fairy Tail logo necklace is that it's the same colour black as the one Gray Fullbuster has as a tattoo on his chest<br />
<br />
He's most noticed for wearing no shirt and being generally sexy, so he's my fave character and this is the perfect way to appreciate him as a character!<br />
<br />
What I couldn't get over was how shiny it is and how it looked the same as the anime representation of the wizard guild. The pendant is heavy-ish with a black rope cord that fastens. The cord is quite long without being a choker, though it is made for slender necks being from China.<br />
<br />
If you hold Fairy Tail fan club meetings, or cosplay I would advise fans to get this as it looks cool, fun and accurate to the series art, plus, you can't help thinking about Gray shirtless!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />As a pendant, it looks so cool and sophisticated. The sort of jewellery that is sure to impress fans of the series with its curved design and simplicity.<div><br />

</div><br /></div><div>In one episode we see Kawaki in Konoha checking for potential threats while at the same time coping with how hungry he feels after his crash landing. Flashbacks of Kawaki's life reminded me of Rio Brando's younger years in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. The difference is that Kawaki's drunken dad sells him to Jigen for a large amount of money. This is due to Jigen finding out Kawaki's special blood. Think of it as an equivalent of the Star Wars Midiclorian count to assess whether someone has potential to be a Jedi. </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

It might look really odd, but there is good reason for it. Every spring there's a Children's Parade in the town and it's Class One's turn to take part.</p><p>The grown-ups have been helping them get ready for the festivities giving them a helping hand with making the costumes. Nick takes us through a standard day at their school where their class are doing a practice run for the parade; The Jam Tart Squad, Tea Cup Crew, Team Swiss Roll (my favourite) and The Sponge Cake Gang.</p><p>Nick's book was inspired by seeing children dressed as cake slices in the playground, being part of the Children's Parade that marked the opening of the Brighton Festival. His story is short and sweet, showing the excitement of what it would be like setting up a children's parade and the feelings of joy at being a part of it. </p><p>Nick has created an amazing book where it is perfect for children as it's fun and engaging, but it can also be educational. Teachers and parents alike can use it to teach them to count or name certain words; how many jam tarts there are around the tree and how many slices of cake were near the hopscotch etc. There are some extras too, a spot the difference and a This book belongs to: so they can enjoy it and keep it. Personally, I would have this on my keeper shelf to remind me to keep a sense of fun!</p>sandrareviewerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16984743758455807440noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1135476229618518868.post-75669495006329995392021-08-02T12:52:00.002-07:002021-08-04T12:02:48.355-07:00ANIME REVIEW: YU YU HAKUSHO SEASON 1 BLU-RAY<div><b><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br /></b><img alt="" class="attachment-featured-image size-featured-image wp-post-image" height="316" loading="lazy" sizes="(max-width: 370px) 100vw, 370px" src="https://cdn.animeuknews.net/app/uploads/2021/08/Yu-Yu-Hakusho-cover-370x465.jpg" srcset="https://cdn.animeuknews.net/app/uploads/2021/08/Yu-Yu-Hakusho-cover-370x465.jpg 370w, https://cdn.animeuknews.net/app/uploads/2021/08/Yu-Yu-Hakusho-cover-239x300.jpg 239w, https://cdn.animeuknews.net/app/uploads/2021/08/Yu-Yu-Hakusho-cover-170x214.jpg 170w, https://cdn.animeuknews.net/app/uploads/2021/08/Yu-Yu-Hakusho-cover-85x107.jpg 85w, https://cdn.animeuknews.net/app/uploads/2021/08/Yu-Yu-Hakusho-cover.jpg 398w" style="background-color: #f3f5f8; border-style: none; box-sizing: border-box; color: #212529; font-family: "Nunito Sans", -apple-system, system-ui, BlinkMacSystemFont, "Segoe UI", Roboto, "Helvetica Neue", Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; height: auto; max-width: 100%; text-align: center; vertical-align: middle;" width="251" /></div><div><b><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div></b><b>Yu Yu Hakusho Season 1 Blu-ray</b></div><div><b>FUNimation Entertainment</b></div><div><b>Rating: </b>TV-PG/12</div><div><b>Subtitles:</b> English</div><div><b>Aspect Ratio:</b> 1.33.1<br /><div><b>Release Date:</b> 2/8/2021<div><div><b>Reviewed by: </b>Sandra Scholes</div></div><div><br /></div><div>There is a current trend with 90s anime series being re-released for a new more modern audience, updating the look of the animation without losing the original 90s appeal it had.</div><span><a name="more"></a></span><span><a name='more'></a></span><div><br /></div><div>I like many fans love the idea of an updated version of what we consider anime classics. Yu Yu Hakusho deserved to be on Blu-ray as it's a shonen series with a set of main characters that all have their own personalities that work around the main protagonist, Yusuke Urameshi. </div><div><br /></div><div>Considered a delinquent, Urameshi dies when attempting to save a young boy from being killed by a Spirit. Some might expect it would have ended for him there, but this is only the start of Urameshis journey as he is brought back to life with a destiny to fulfil as a Spirit Detective/Slayer. </div><div><br /></div><div>Like all teens, Urameshi thinks he is on his own with his destiny, but like Ichigo from Bleach, there are characters like Hiei, Youko, Genkai and Kuwabara who can help him along the way. Originally a manga series created by Yoshihiro Togashi, this is classed as a Martial arts/Supernatural series which was made into an anime then a movie back in 1993.</div><div><br /></div><div>The '90s were the era for shonen series where character design was key to the success of the series. Yu Yu Hakusho's characters have the typical look of men before the Bishonen look became a thing in anime. These have full interesting expressions which make it easy to relate to as a viewer. The colours are striking enough to appeal to draw appeal frim young viewers while the line art comes across brilliantly from a time when animation was hand-drawn. </div><div><b><br /></b></div><div><b>Bonus Material:</b></div><div>2 Art Cards and a Collectable Slipcase.</div><div><br /></div></div></div>sandrareviewerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16984743758455807440noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1135476229618518868.post-30925572261345358082021-07-24T13:19:00.000-07:002021-07-24T13:19:21.476-07:00CHILDREN'S BOOK REVIEW: THE GREAT FOOD BANK HEIST BY ONJALI Q. A simple click on a PDF etc can unlock a rich world of manga from Star Fruit Books who already have a great amount of manga to choose from. And as there have only been a handful of publishers around who have only made print manga, it is now easier to access new talent with a click.</div><span><a name='more'></a></span><div><br /></div><div>Miyako Yoko's Look Into My Eyes is almost a look into the soul of a band member who readers observe is going through some kind of struggle one would expect when her pop idol band is about to go their separate ways. This single member agrees with her fans that she doesn't want the band to break up as being an international star does more for her than the fame attached to it. Her emotional and mental state relies on being a part of a successful band. It takes her mind off her real-life struggles, giving her hope, yet now the band's break-up is imminent she has to face her inner troubles, self-doubt and insecurity alone without the crutch the band has provided her. </div><div><br /></div><div>Look Into My Eyes, even from the cover art appears to be the character saying farewell to the public, though the entire scene betrays her true feelings. </div><div><br /></div><div>Nearly all bands have a moment when they feel they have done enough when they have no more songs to write and have a need to reinvent themselves in another way. This decision is what the others want, but not her, and who could blame her. While they are together she has the public adoration, being in the public eye and the fact it removes her from her inner turmoil. </div><div><br /></div><div>Through Yoko's art and story she weaves a more honest story than expected. Readers rarely see into the private life of a band member either emotionally or mentally. Here on stage she is perfect, well made up, great dress sense and has the ability to emote the sort of confidence exhibited by a fashion model. She appears to be in control, but in reality, she isn't. What readers can see is how her real personality comes through when the break-up unfolds. Whether it's Jpop, Jpop or Visual Kei the pop idol style works in this story, and as a one-shot manga. If anyone did look into her eyes they might see the sadness, though not truly understand what she is going through. There is a good reason for this; she thinks she must hide who she really is to keep the persona of control, the perfection of her fake success. </div><div><br /></div><div>Yoko's art captures her feelings while the other band members are enjoying their time in transition to what they think will be a success. She has to deal with her feelings still keeping them hidden. As this is a one-shot and his limited scope for drawing in the reader, Yoko manages to keep the interest and encourage us to want to invest time in other manga Yoko does </div></div>sandrareviewerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16984743758455807440noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1135476229618518868.post-26560653245825158122021-04-23T15:28:00.005-07:002021-04-23T15:28:51.903-07:00PRESS RELEASE: DEMON SLAYER - KIMETSU NO YAIBA - THE MOVIE MUGEN TRAIN<div class="mail-message expanded" id="m#msg-a:r3483930992142682738"><div class="mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images"><div class="clear"><div class="gmail_quote"><blockquote class="gmail_quote"><center><table align="center" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="zoom-out" data-zoom="1" id="m_-2177920205706286333m_291588055295684124bodyTable" style="height: 100%px;"><tbody><tr><td align="center" id="m_-2177920205706286333m_291588055295684124bodyCell" valign="top"><table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td id="m_-2177920205706286333m_291588055295684124templateHeader" valign="top"></td></tr><tr><td id="m_-2177920205706286333m_291588055295684124templateBody" valign="top"><table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody></tbody></table></td></tr></tbody></table></td></tr></tbody></table></center></blockquote><p> </p><blockquote class="gmail_quote"><center><table align="center" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="zoom-out" data-zoom="1" id="m_-2177920205706286333m_291588055295684124bodyTable" style="height: 100%px;"><tbody><tr><td align="center" id="m_-2177920205706286333m_291588055295684124bodyCell" valign="top"><table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td id="m_-2177920205706286333m_291588055295684124templateBody" valign="top"><table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td valign="top"><table align="left" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td align="center" valign="top"><img alt="" height="232" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/proxy/AVvXsEgXG1g2W8pme7VA2af2aVNYaF8WU4VKWO9Ib8UNwVZ0FqxlWz1F6EH24j6rNs8KY9tz5kJnBunHlomMDcgW8KcXpmaWD8As-FnWASWFzD9H_05yCKM5qON5kikMUKqLgcJE7lAD914-Sg_savHvjGRcoWkwhj51rYzq8yF5I-4_b4RJq9SgHMdWmecXoSSAGoxIHv_lLZEAp_4ZtzfgGjk8lmBo=w412-h232" width="412" /></td></tr><tr><td valign="top" width="564"><p dir="ltr"><em><strong id="m_-2177920205706286333m_291588055295684124docs-internal-guid-9a233cf8-7fff-48c6-3b5a-9d2880f6f691">©</strong>Koyoharu Gotoge / SHUEISHA, Aniplex, ufotable</em></p><table align="center" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="zoom-out" data-zoom="1" id="m_-2177920205706286333m_291588055295684124bodyTable" style="height: 100%px;"><tbody><tr><td align="center" id="m_-2177920205706286333m_291588055295684124bodyCell" valign="top"><table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td id="m_-2177920205706286333m_291588055295684124templateBody" valign="top"><table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td valign="top"><table align="left" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td valign="top" width="564"><p dir="ltr"></p></td></tr></tbody></table></td></tr></tbody></table><table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td valign="top"><table align="left" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td valign="top"><a name='more'></a><h1><span style="font-size: small;">London, United Kingdom (April 21, 2021) – Young Tanjiro of the Demon Slayer Corps is on a mission to figure out a way to turn his sister back into a human. His African American female started out life as a cartoon look that turned into a more sophisticated image with more than a passing resemblance to 80's singer, Sade. </div><div><br /></div><div>Using Clip Studio Paint Mel renders the image from an ImagineFX layout from the team he can work around to grow his image until he comes up with the perfect cover image. Mel produced an image that is both realistic and painterly.<br /></div><div><br /></div><div><b>Interview- Artist Portfolio Gary Evans with Sam Nassour</b></div><div>Sam's big break in animation makes for interesting reading; in his beachwear Sam attends a convention in Dubai where he introduced himself to the guys at Cartoon Network, showing them his artwork on his Facebook page. What happened next both surprised and inspired me. Since then, Sam has worked for the likes of Rovio who made the popular Angry Birds games. </div><span><a name="more"></a></span><div><br /></div><div>Sam's character art is colourful, fun and with a large dose of super cuteness that proves infectious. One of the pieces that attracted my attention was his step-by-step illustration of a Viking and his pet dragon. The similarity to his owner is purely intentional. What I got from reading about the artist is a person doesn't have to drag an A1 portfolio to a convention to make an impression, the work can speak for itself just as well on a device.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>How to Capture Mood in your Art by Tararreh Karimi</b></div><div>Tararreh's rainforest scene has a girl perched on a branch, sheltering from the rain under a bunch of leaves, a small fire next to her keeps her warm. Two different colour schemes create the mood of contentment and feeling of sanctuary from the elements as she waits for the rain to stop. If the image was a jigsaw it would be deemed as having too much background, but as an image the background is vast, showing how small the girl is in this instant. The artist has captured the size of her world in Photoshop, and like in other workshops, there is a list of resources with the brushes needed to create it.</div><div><b><br /></b></div><div><b>Create Dynamic Perspective by Mike Corriero</b></div><div>At art college one of the main things we learnt as a budding artist was the importance of perspective in a drawing. For most of us, we used traditional media, but here Mike uses digital media to bring his scene to life in Procreate. This is also part of a video workshop so artists can render an eye-catching finished painting. Mike's effort reminded me of the TSR paintings from the 1980s. </div><div><br /></div><div>I enjoyed the tutorials and artwork on show in step-by-step easy to understand ways, so I thought that even though the magazine is aimed at seasoned professional digital artists, even newbies can buy the mag and have a stab at them to see how well they do. </div><div><br /></div>sandrareviewerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16984743758455807440noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1135476229618518868.post-3916706530285606562021-03-08T03:23:00.000-08:002021-03-08T03:23:18.148-08:00BOOK REVIEW: LIGHT OF IMPOSSIBLE STARS: AN EMBERS OF WAR NOVEL BY GARETH L. We saw how Rimuru started out as a Slime, then grew as he went on his adventures. As far as we're concerned Rimuru had been dealt an unlucky hand, but he soon got to evolve even after some pretty bad times in previous episodes.<br>
<a name="more"></a><br>
You would think this is what would happen in this newest set of episodes, 12 in all, plus a bonus one for fans of the series. As a fantasy comedy, it is funny in its own way, yet this second part doesn't really go anywhere and Rimuru's character doesn't grow any more than he did in the last series. <br>
<br>
Back then he faced some serious problems, perils with which characters he could trust and having to cope with being only partly evolved, even so, we would have liked to have seen him evolve some more and face more funny problems he could overcome if only to make the story more enjoyable rather than it only being a comedy with an original idea.<br>
<br>
Luckily there are other characters who seem to prop up Rimuru and as there is rumoured to be another series after this one, we can only hope that we see more of what happened in the first part.<br>
