Everything seems great for high school kid Arata Kasuga, he lives with his cousin, Hiijiri and has friends at school - so life's peachy...except it isn't the world he's been living has been a complete lie - the sun is black and everyone accepts it and he's having strange dreams of him chasing a woman only to find he loses her. He thinks he's happy, but there are things happening in his life that makes him wonder.
The reality is, everyone he knew a while back is actually dead, wiped out by a devastating earthquake that also took his cousin. In the dream, it was his cousin who handed him a strange little book and told him to go - he used the book to make sure he remembered her and asked another woman to grant his wish to make the world again with Hiijiri in it - even if the world was a lie!

While he's out with Hiijiri, a woman brushes past him who orders him to awaken or she'll have to kill him. If this isn't strange enough, when he starts asking questions, he finds out he has created this odd world, and has to face the reality that his cousin is dead (in a way) and awaken his true power. For him the world is made up of mages and grimoires and the mage gives him two choices, give up the grimoire who made the pact with him, or die. If he gives her up, the world can be put to rights, but as Arata is an intelligent kind of guy, he decides on another possibility - he wants to develop his power and to do that he has to enrol at the Royal Biblica Academy.

Just as there are seven deadly sins, at the academy, he will meet seven girls who all have mysterious powers and are the best at what they do. He has to work with them to boost his powers if he wants to live up to his future reputation as a potential demon king candidate. His choices up to now have been hard enough, but his classmates don't think he can do enough to convince them he has any potential at all. At the academy, Lilith is his teacher. She tells him all he needs to know to put in the hours and learn, learn, learn! When he gets to class however, all the girls want to sit next to him, and dare I say, get more closer to him than he expects. If you've seen The Matrix, it's complicated, yet ground-breaking. Whereas this anime shows that Arata's need to be with  his cousin was understandable , if a little selfish. At the academy he can prove of use to the seven who investigate magical problems and if he wants to be a part of the Trinity, he must be open to what they tell him.

Like a load of magical girl, harem anime before it, this is a fun watch that is as action-packed as it is comical and has a lot going for it in terms of characters and situations.

Bonus Material:Clean Opening and Closing Animations & Also Available from Sentai Filmworks: Wizard Barristers, Blade Dance of the Elementalers, Log Horizon Season 2 and Magical Warriors.

Summary: This is three discs of magical entertainment set at the sort of academy we'd all want to enrol!
