Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider and turned into Spiderman thanks to a special suit and mask, Clark Kent took off his glasses and formal outfit in a phone box to turn into Superman and Bruce Wayne swapped his tuxedo and riches for a leather suit, mask and cape to become Batman. Kyosuke Shikijo wants to be a superhero as his dad's a cop and his mother is a bondage queen, but what kind of superhero will he become?

We've seen superheroes before, loads of them, but Hentai Kamen isn't one of them - a guy who wears a pair of ladies knickers over his head fights for justice, or is he doing it just to get the love of his life hoping she will finally take notice of him? If it is the latter, then she'll not be able to miss him roaming around the neighbourhood in a mankini and fishnet stockings with only the pants to keep her from knowing it's him in disguise. When she gets kidnapped by a gang of bank robbers he doesn't know what to do at first, but when he handles women's knickers he finds he can unleash his inner pervert and become the superhero he always wanted, and of course win the girl of his dreams.

Based on a manga by Keishu Ando and serialised in Weekly Shonen Jump, HK: Forbidden Superhero is one of the most original ideas to co me from the land of the Rising Sun in ages. Comedies come in different shapes and sizes and this one was a surprise hit in Japan as well as winning an award at the New York Asian Film Festival - and with Hentai Kamen's comical martial arts moves and crotch super hits, criminals can't get away from him - women want him and men adore his nifty techniques. Just think, if you're a criminal out to rob some guy on the street, a bank robber or a guy whose out to steal someone's car- beware of a man with pants on his face and a mankini that only covers his genitals! As this is a live action movie it is well worth getting as you aren't likely to see anything similar again.

Bonus Material: Trailer.

Verdict: Funny, sexy and at times all out hilarious!
