Super sleuth anime are becoming quite the in thing at the moment - and Yuuki along with Inga will prove to be a fun release in early June for all those who liked Ghost Hunt, Pet Shop of Horrors and xxxHolic. This anime comes as a series of episodes which sometimes act as separates, while others have a story running over multiple episodes.

Yuuki Shinjuurou and his assistant Inga investigate murders every chance they get, which is most of the time. Yuki takes Inga along with him so that he can add an extra dimension to his investigative techniques as even though she looks like a kid in the usual kids trendy clothes, as you would expect, when she senses soething in the other person, she turns into a volupuous young woman who can ask a suspect for the truth only once, and the suspect is compelled to answer, and not to lie. As she is a valuable asset to the team, he allows her to get away with almost anything, including making him look a fool while he is busy trying to solve the latest murder mystery.

Yuuki acts calm and collected when in the process of investigating each case even though he is known as the Defeated Detective for his tendancy to be usurped by another, more well known detective who works similar cases. Early on in the story it is discovered that Yuuki was visited by Inga who saved him from death, and he made a pact with her.  Inga, on the other hand is the strange one in the series, she acts like a boy with a panda outfit over her head, and makes funny noises when she is intrigued by another. It is obvious she is an otherworldly type, but you can't quite grasp what. Rinroku Kaishou is the base of operations for the other two as he works from home and is a well known investigator who assists them in unravelling the crimes.

Inspired by Angosakaguchi, "Ango Sakaguchi's Meiji Kaika Ango Onmonochou," the episodes are done in the style of many anime series like Ghost Hunt and xxxHolic, which many will like as there is an element of the supernatural in them. The first is about a murder taking place at a masked ball, the second the murder is of a famous woman who is connected to an idol group that was successful a few years ago, the third concerns a strange family who insist on wearing masks due to a strange family curse. For an anime I had previously not heard of, this was a thrilling one to watch.

Bonus Material: Karaoke Version of Opening Title Sequence, Karaoke Version of Closing Title Sequence, and Episode O Prequel Episode.

Verdict: This is a detective series with a twist you won't want to miss!
