When I reviewed Adventure Time last year, I didn't know that it's writer and creative director, Patrick McHale based this on a short film he made, yet this, the Cartoon Network's first mini series has an all-star cast voicing the sort of characters you would expect to see in Adventure Time.

The story features two brothers, Wirt and Grey who have to get along if they want to get through the woods and home after becoming lost. The woods are labelled the Unknown where: "stories are revealed to those who travel through the wood."

The brothers want to find a way out and on their journey they meet a woods man who offers to help them but children threatened by a beast with evil intentions. Voice actors are strangely enough real actors in real life, Elijah Wood Collin Dean and Christopher Lloyd are familiar names from movies like Lord of the Rings and Back to the Future make this a triumph that will make viewers want to see more, this may be an experiment to see if it takes off and warrants a longer series or sequel short film. We shall have to see.

Over the Garden Wall as it's title suggests is about the human need for finding new and interesting places to explore that inevitably lead to danger and also knowledge they wouldn't have had if they had stayed at home. It is a short adventure that is dark and interesting with a vintage look to it.

Bonus Material: None.

Summary: If you've binge-watched Adventure Time, this is the one you want to get into - it has a lot to offer!
