In Genesect and the Legend Awakened, we find out the impact of what a non-natural pokemon species has on the natural environment around it, now we discover a story about the land on the brink of destruction due to a Heart Diamond that can no longer keep the land safe and secure.

Carbink is the pokemon who live in the underground world and Diancie is their princess responsible for creating a huge diamond to replace the old one and carry on their survival. Diancie, however, doesn't have the strength to create more than a couple of very small diamonds, and she is still too young and immature to realise how important her responsibility is.

Diancie wants guidance from another legendary pokemon but a bunch of thieves want the diamonds for themselves, kidnapping her and coaxing Diancie to make diamonds for them. Diancie thinks she has only two problems, her inability to make a planet-sized diamond and the thieves but the other comes when the thieves accidentally unleash the power of the pokemon Yvetal. Ash tries to help Diancie but it's looking like more destruction will lie in their wake. 

Diancie is a cute pokemon but she is the sort of princess who hasn't had enough experience of the world outside. Diancie leaves the comfort of her own kingdom and goes in search of what experiences she can find but this inevitably leads her into more trouble with Jessie and James. In other words, this movie is all fun adventure and laughs all the way. When Jessie and James get her to make more diamonds Diancie tries her best to give them what they want but at the same time, her being kidnapped is motivating her to try and create the one diamond that could save her world.

As part of the three movie box set Pokemon XY this is a truly enjoyable one with Diancie stealing the show.
