After Masashi Kishimoto was approached to write a sequel series to Naruto, Kishimoto called on the talents of his former assistant, Mikio Ikemoto to draw the manga. The result was Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, and that became turned into the new anime series which is soon to be out on Blu-ray with the first thirteen episodes.

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations takes us through the young lives of the children of popular characters from Naruto; Boruto is Naruto's son, Sarada is Sasuke and Sakura's daughter and Mitsuki, well I like letting viewers find out who his father is themselves!

Boruto is full of beans and wants to love his father, Naruto but he resents his long hours as the Hokage. Sarada has a special bond with her mother, Sakura, but finds her father, Sasuke hard to understand as, like Boruto's dad, he is away most of the timekeeping watch on the village. Mitsuki is the quieter one who knows he is different from his friends, though he is lucky, Boruto and Sakura accept him as one of their own as he is intelligent, if strange and thoughtful of others - and handy in a fight they could lose if he wasn't there. In battle, they are a really good team who have to fight off a foe called the Ghost who terrorises the village.

Boruto is enough of a new series in the Naruto vein to be a continuation of a story many have grown up with over the years, and is much more light-hearted than Naruto was early on. The selection of new characters are a nostalgic look at how they look like and act like their parents, and how fun it is to see an older series of characters from Naruto Shippuden, though an older Sasuke and Naruto is funnier still!
