Adventure on the high seas is perilous, just ask Monkey D. Luffy. He's a kid who wants to be king of the pirates and is also in search of the legendary One Piece. This is one of the US's most requested anime series since Naruto and Bleach. Luffy sees all that is around him and even if he does want to be a pirate king, he doesn't want to be like some of the pirates out there. Even some of the ship captains are as cruel as the pirates. Take for instance Marine Captain Morgan. He likes to stride into town with his men demanding what he wants. The only reason he does this is due to his father, the real Captain Morgan who calls the shots. No one will dare to disobey him, no one but Luffy would be that stupid!

Luffy doesn't like what Captain Morgan stands for, and even less what he has done to one Zoro - he's been charged with attacking his dog in a tavern when he was up to no good, and has been sentenced to death, that is unless Luffy can get him released and have his swords returned to him. Luffy says he will return them and have him freed if he'll come and be one of his pirates, but after he was a honorable man before, he thinks he might be going against all he stands for as a honest man if he joins him and becomes one of his crew of straw hats. Zoro has some serious deciding to do. If he stays true to what he believes in , he will die, but if he takes a chance with Luffy, he might find being a pirate on his ship a fun thing to do. Luffy might have some big ideas but his crew at the moment consists only of him, Kobo and Zoro, while his ship is really a very small boat.

The reason for his bendy arms and legs is that he once ate some forbidden devil fruit. Some would have near killed him, but this one gave him an unstoppable attitude and a willingness to get out of any difficult situation. he is a big fan of Old Roger, one of the greatest pirates ever who left all his treasure at a certain location Luffy has to find. This treasure lies within the grand line, and Luffy intends to gather his crew and take the lot for them, but only with their help can he make the journey worthwhile.

As the first One Piece Uncut Collection 1, it is one that has never before been seen by English viewers, and they will definitely want to get their hands on this piece of booty! I can see why this is well liked by fans as it's got the comedy, action and excellent bad guy defeats. The characters are outrageous looking as are the sea monsters they find lurking in the endless oceans (but with Shanks around they shouldn't worry.) For fun and mayhem One Piece Uncut Collection 1 is a great excuse for kicking back and taking in hours of entertainment in one go.

Bonus Material: Staff Commentaries, Text less Songs and Trailers for other anime series.

Verdict: Get out yer pirate flags and cutlasses - here comes Luffy and his gang in the first release of the uncut anime! Ship ahoy, mateys!
