Considered a cult classic from the 80s, The Transformers: The Movie has been updated to 4K for younger viewers who expect a high-quality visual experience.

What I've found is where there's the main story in animation, there's almost always a subplot. Here the Autobots want to defeat the Deceptions who have taken over their planet. Their possible battle is thwarted however by Unicron, a planet that can swallow up anything around it.

With the possible destruction of their planet, the Autobots need to rise up and save the world from this threat from the Deceptions.

If you want to enjoy a bit of 80s nostalgia updated for a new audience, you're in for a Blu-ray version of what I remember watching back then. The animation and special effects have been updated to give a fresher experience that has the ability to convince you to think it was made only the other day. You will also be listening out for the voice actor cast which back in the 80s were serious movie and tv stars: Leonard Nimoy, Orson Welles, Robert Shah, Eric Idle and Casey Casem.

Recently 80s anime series are getting the 4K treatment as well as the sheer amount of bonus material serious fans of the series will enjoy. With this, they will be able to find out more on the movie and voice acting cast, which is exciting and took me back to a time when the merchandise was a new thing starting in the late 70s with Star Wars. Transformers had their own action figures and when some of the characters would be killed off in place of newer ones introduced to the series, there would be a new set of action figures released, expecting that fans of the series would get them. Little did they know that fans had already invested in the characters they liked and didn't feel ready for new characters to accept.

Transformers was always one of the animations close to retro fans and this new release will prove a great source of enjoyment to both young and old viewers alike.

Bonus Material:
6 Art Cards, 32 Page Artbook, Fold-out Poster.
