We have been treated to the movies from this particular franchise, now this is the series of episodes which show how the bond between Ash and Pikachu has developed.

In true anime style, which this series is famous for, the episodes range from strange to bizarre, yet seem to endear us to the lighter side of anime when we have tired of mecha series, sci-fi or period dramas that include famous warriors from earlier periods in Japanese military history.

Ash and Pikachu star in a story where the two have to battle Lt. Surge and his Raichu. There is also a problem with a decision he has to make about the outcome of the battle and whether he will feel the same after it is won. A Pikachu forest is the setting for another, which is strange enough when you think about it, a surfing Pikachu is even weirder and Pikachu as a series of movie stars could be what we need to see a sweeter side to his personality, which would be a change to how Pikachu was back in the day when Ash first met him. The weirdness becomes highlighted when the two are brought into a peculiar mirrored world they might not get out of.

Pokemon was always about fun, adventure and a good dose of humour, and this is what makes the series so enjoyable. Ash and Pikachu have had a lot of trouble getting along over the years, but here is where we can quickly see how their bond grows and they have fun encountering the various characters that have made them who they are. Partner up with Pikachu is an exciting new anime with episodes that chronicle the best and worst times of their lives.

Bonus Material: None.

Summary: Friendship is what this series is all about - Ash and Pikachu are the ones we think of when we think crucial anime characters!
