Evolution is a tricky thing, at least when it goes wrong as it does for Meicoomon. A sudden evolution to the powerful Meicrakmon classifies her as too dangerous to live and harmony encouraging Homeostasis wants to find and destroy her for that very reason. This is how the world could end if Homeostasis doesn't get there in time, though for the DigiDestined, time is also running out.

The funny thing is, the Digimon knew this was going to happen and had been lying in wait for the end of the world as they see it, regardless of the DigiDestined being around to try and stabilise the world.

After being sent out of the Digital World, the DigiDestined have no one around to help them with their duties on Earth, so this time they are truly alone with the realisation that they might not save the world this time.

What we would expect with Digimon, as with other anime that are PG rated is plenty of bouncy fun, action and fight scenes without the usual blood and gore you would expect from something of a much higher rating, but you would be wrong in your thinking. This time around, the Digimon world has changed into a more darker universe with blood, gore and destruction in place of what we would have expected in previous movies.

When Mei is rescued by the DigiDestined, they have to get into action to save Meicoomon from being killed for evolving, and to do that, they must see if they can change her from being Meicrakmon. We know this could be a tall order for the DigiDestined, but as always, they must do what is right (that's the point of heroes or super hero sentai teams).  Digimon Adventure Tri The Movie Part 5 starts off dark and looks like it might have lost the plot, but with a clever twist near the end, the movie seems to have pulled-off a stunning cliffhanger that sets the scene for the next movie.

Bonus Material: Interview with Johnny Yong Bosch (the actor who plays T.K.).

Summary: Fun and entertaining, later, but darker earlier - better get ready for the cliffhanger!
