For a series that relies on its kick ass attitude an cool characters, power rangers ninja steel doesn't need a full menu just a play all option and episode selection that also comes with no added extras. All the effort has been put into the quality of the episodes.

Ten years after the ninja nexus prism came to earth, Aidan and Brody's dad finds it in his garden. He sees it as an omen and sets about cutting it to see what it is and in doing so finds the ninja nexus star inside. Reaching into it to see if it is a real object, he takes it but before he can marvel at what he has found, a monster has come to take it from him, and all the while his son is busy training in the back yard.

Aiden and Brodie's father tries to protect them but in an effort to keep the nexus star he smashes it into six pieces that turn it into six ninja power stars. Brody remembers his past and his father disappearing and the awful reality that he is still a prisoner on the alien enemy ship. If he stands any chance of being reunited with his father and his brother, he must make quick his escape.

Such an opening comes when he sees a show called galaxy warriors where the ninja nexus star is used as a prize for those who win. The object of the game is to see if the winner can pull out a ninja star. For ten years now the show has been running and no one had been able to pull out a single star. Brody decides one day to take the ninja star with him when he makes his exit with a friend and Red Bot.

Of all the newer incarnations, this is a brand new take on the magic of those earlier series that hands over the powers of the Power Rangers to a bunch who can make sense of the power they will own. There is the same sort of feel of awe when Brody's dad uncovers the nexus star with improved special effects and better looking bad guys. It had to happen and I think it looks better for it as rubber monsters can only go so far to entertain.

Bonus Material: None.

Summary: As new series go, this one's a keeper as far as characters, plot and special effects are concerned.
