Princess Leonie Kolburg is looking for an eligible bachelor, but she is in space and her noble family is in need of urgent funds. Leonie is different from her family in that she prefers to be called Leo by her friends and doesn't personally need a man.

As it's the Valg season all the noble families have got their children to attend a lavish ball so they can find suitable matches, Leo's mother hopes she will find a rich prince, but all Leo thinks is he will want to take her money and leave her.

In The Stars We Steal, generations of nobility are living on spaceships rather than the earth, which makes life hard as the princesses have to be careful to marry right as rogue males are stealing digicoin from the richer types.

Alexa's idea of royalty in space is one I haven't seen played out since Flash Gordon, though this novel has an air of Regency pomp and grandeur that is at odds with our female protagonist feels. Leo knows it is her last season to find a man, but she could care less about what her mother and father want. She is more interested in the murder happening so close to her.

This has murder mystery, attitude and has the young adult thrill of teen drama, style and Dynasty in Space feel to it that will make it a hit with Alexas already growing readership.
