To recap the first season, Keima is considered the god of games due to his practically living in the gaming world even when he is supposed to be in class. He is asked online by a mystery girl to help her, and once he agrees to it, he is recruited by Elsie, a demon into finding lost souls in the real world. In order to find and send them back to where they came from, Keima has to win the girls over with the techniques he has learned from playing online computer games. Once they fall for him, the loose soul leaves the human's body. And he hopes they will fall in love with him, as he only has experience of doing this in games.

It isn't as easy as he thinks, and before long this search for loose souls starts to take up most of his precious gaming time. Keima is still hated by the other guys at school for being too geeky. He doesn't like fights and tends to let them beat him up most of the time until they get bored. It's not the perfect solution, but he gets by. Him and Elsie have several targets for season 2, but one of them is a karate champion who is trying to act strong like a boy, eats hard rice crackers and loathes cute things such as cats and fluffy toys, but she is only hiding her true self behind her manliness, and if she comes to terms with her inner cuteness, they the loose soul will leave.

As she doesn't like Keima anyway, it's a tough time for him to try and win her over and get her to accept her inner cuteness. He goes so far as to be her apprentice and general dogsbody in school, and gets further abuse from his classmates, but to win the heart of a girl, Keima will go to any lengths as viewers will be able to see.

The World God Only Knows puts two unlikely people together, a geek and a demon girl, but each give the other a reason to live. Keima is given a life outside of games, while he helps Elsie understand more about humans, both their good points and bad. If you have watched it from the first series, you will see it as a loose soul hunt every episode or two and it has the potential to be annoying after a few episodes, but what keeps it from being dull is the humour and the entertaining characters Keima and Elsie encounter.

Bonus Material: Text less Opening, Text less Closing, Japanese TV Spots, and Japanese Release Spots.

Verdict: Fun and hugely entertaining - Keima is the ultimate gamer!
