At the Grim Reaper's Death Weapon Meister Academy. a student can grow to become the best they can, developing their powers to protect the world from evil, but evil comes in all forms and can deceive.
Each student has the potential to be a great slayer, and Maka, as a Meister uses Soul to destroy evil. Soul acts as her weapon and together, Meister and weapon are a lethal combination as they can be the most powerful around.
In a world where zombies, werewolves and witches feed on innocent people, Maka and Soul are the only ones who can help the non-magic users live in peace. From the studio that brought us Fullmetal Alchemist and Cowboy Bebop,
The idea of a world where humans also have witches and magic is a very real and dangerous one and with the addition of magic-users being able to turn into weapons used by Meister's is a peculiar one, but enough to make the viewer think of why. One thing to notice is the character designs, some are not the run of the mill anime style and, if some aren't open-minded to new looks of these characters, then watching it could be a little tricky. Its influences are to my mind from Black Butler and Bleach though the action and drama that continues through the entire series are compelling enough, especially through the eyes of the main character.
Soul Eater isn't a long-running series like many others, which maybe it's a strength as it doesn't suffer from being stretched out for too long. The episodes are satisfying enough and the ending is one most will think is a good finish to a series that had enough magic in it already.
Bonus Material: Trailers for other anime series and Commentaries.
Summary: Maka and Soul are the ones to look out for and make no mistake, they have power in this year's most fun release!
