Now that there's a cast of thousands, in one place there are a few who have goals of their own. Luffy's being the most important-he wants to get to his brother and release him from execution. But to do that he has to get through the obstacles around him.
Marines who line up to take him on and other pirates who want the ultimate prize, Rogers gold. Luffy does have allies though, one of them being Hancock. Hancock has taken a liking to him, remembering when they first met and she fell for him. Hancock wants to help him overcome these obstacles by fighting one of the stronger looking ones so Luffy can progress to getting closer to his brother.
In a way, Luffy is very much like Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach. He has to fight several foes before he can get to his goal of saving Ace. Luffy has come up against some tough opponents over the episodes and Mihawk is one of the best yet, earning him the title of the "Worlds strongest swordsman." Not even Luffys gum gum power can stop him from almost cutting him in half.
This doesn't stop other battles happening around him between other pirates who are more than ready for action. It also doesn't stop Hancock from declaring her love for him as her future husband, she gets all riled up on their wedding plans and what she will wear. One of the more amusing parts of the episode watching her think out loud on what she will cook for him as his wife, Luffy having such a big appetite.
For Luffy though the only thing on his mind is finding Ace. So far we have experienced a lot with this series, pirates versus the navy, vast amounts of treasure, Luffy trying to save his friends. Lets see if he can rescue a family member with all the navy positioned to take him down.
What fans will have noticed by now is Luffys guts and determination whether he is fighting Mihawk, navy or Blackbeard. There are plenty who want to fight him, and want him to win regardless of the odds being stacked against him. Normally I wouldn't be so excited about One Piece, but the reveal in this collection made me wonder what else is in store for the straw hat pirates.
It isn't only the story or characters that will impress viewers this time around, its a big reveal I found quite shocking and one I think fans of the series will stick around for to see what happens in the next collection. If ever there was a need to watch this series to see what happens next this is it.
