The five have been chosen; Kouji, Junpei, Izumi, Takuya and Tomoki are the Chosen Children from the Real World who must use their spirits to be able to take one one of the three Holy Angels, Cherubimon who has deserted the other two angels in a revolt that will shake the world to the brink of destruction.

Digimon Frontier is one of those series I had to like based on how much the scriptwriters took notice of the feedback they got from when Digital Tamers was released to the public. There were elements of the season they didn't like as they were much darker than they needed to be, generally left out the humour and comedic elements fans knew and loved from the earlier seasons. This time around, Digimon Frontier has taken back those elements that made it such a success and we continue as planned.

Kouya leaves the world he knows to take a trip away. The reason? His phone told him to. It seems as though he was fated to get to the train station, get a ticket and board the train. The destination of Digimon Village is where Kouya has a problem as finding it is more of a task than he first thought. He becomes fused with Guniman who defeats a powerful enemy first time around. Not bad for a first episode to be honest as the main characters are getting to know each other.

It would be easy to dismiss this as just another anime. The first episode brings us into the story quickly and establishes what kind of kid Kouya is. We have seen it a thousand times, Kouya is a kid who has no place in the real world only to be dragged into a new and unfamiliar one. In his case, the Digimon World where he feels more at home despite being so confused.

At first his new friends who have all met in the same way wanted to leave, but Tony, JP and Zoe want to stick around and make a go of being a part of the digital world. Although Digimon Frontier is a fresh look at the franchise, the lead character's voice is familiar as Yuri Lowenthal (Sasuke from Naruto and Keigo from Bleach) including more Digimon than we could cope with. Fans of the original series can expect a lot from the story and characters as they work out how to use their powers and live in this world.

Bonus Material: Clean Opening and Closing Animation, Trailers.

Summary: Enjoy the new series for its thrills, spills and fun all inclusive!
