The characters remember their humble pasts more than anything, how their lives were shattered by the coming of the Titans, their hopes and dreams crumbled, but they had their memories. Attack on Titan Season 3 is later on more about revisiting their old hometown of Almaria to see how bad it looks and, more importantly whether they can take it back from the Titan's grasp.

Here several years on, we see Eren through his time with the Scout Regiment he enlisted in and how they manage to evade and eventually kill the Titans, but there is the one thought on their minds; where did the Titans come from?
