In the previous seasons, Asta had his arms injured when he fought the Eye of the Midnight Sun and this first part carries on with the Black Bulls who are off on a journey to the Forest of Witches where they get help for healing his arms, as Asta might not be able to use magic ever again.

The Black Bulls have seen a lot of action so far and when we were getting to know each character, the progress cuts off when Asta loses the ability to use magic. With his hands in a useless state, he relies on his friends to do the fighting for him, or does he?

What I have noticed about this anime is the ability of its main character, Asta to come through disastrous odds a winner, and watching him here is no different. Asta with three of the Black Bulls have come through the Underwater Temple battle and a greater threat looms over them when the Diamond Kingdom try to invade the border village of Kiren.

The Knights of the Clover Kingdom, the Golden Dawn are reputed to be the best fighting force who could turn the tide of the battle, serving as backup, an advance team. Now that they have arrived, the story starts to get interesting. Yami goes in search of Captain Goldiguts, their leader who has Yami wondering who he really is. This ends up being a separate story fan of the show will have waited for as Yami has been left wondering whether or not the Captain could be Licht of the Eye of the Sun.

While Yami deals with his problems, Asta, Finral and Charmy go help the villagers and, at the same time hope they don't get caught up in the fighting. In Black Clover not only do we see the spectacle of the magic coupled with the fighting, we observe the chemistry between the characters.

Asta and Yuno have a rivalry like Naruto and Sasuke, with Asta wanting to become as tall and strong as him. A funny moment ensues when Yuno's sylph meets Asta and his allies for the first time. She is less than impressed when Yuno tells her he spent a lot of time with Asta when they were growing up, and she is not so happy with Charmy either. Things get worse when Finral's brother Langris Vaude, the Golden Dawn Vice-Captain. Langris seems to look down on his brother as a failure and a useless member of the Black Bulls, yet when Asta, Finral and Charmy are interrupted by an enemy, they can combine their powers to make quite the team.

The main reason for watching is finding out whether Asta has his arms healed, but there is more to the story than that. There is a lot of good character development here and discoveries that make it a fun watch.
