Finn is a boy who wears a strange hat and has a dog and some really cool friends to hang out within the land of Ooo, which despite its apocalyptic theme is a place where Finn can enjoy his life as a human with a friend Jake among many he can be himself with.

Jake is a peculiar dog, he can change shape, which can come in handy when needed and his friends comprise of Princess Bubblegum, Marceline, BMO, and the Ice King. Finn acts as a fiery kid who stands up for what is right, while his friend Jake will be the stabilising force in their friendship, guiding him when he has to if things get out of hand. Finn's friends are equally as weird; Princess Bubblegum  is a piece of gum (literally) with a life force and mind of her own.

I liked the animation, the look of the characters, which are not dissimilar from a lot of colourful characters from animations in the UK. They might look unusual, yet they speak to kids everywhere of hope and reaching out to others when the need arises. Finn and Jake are the best of friends, though they make other friends on their travels (and some amusing enemies) that show minimalist looking characters with bright colours and a cool back story can win the hearts and minds of children everywhere.

Bonus Material:
Disc 1: Commentary on all episodes.
Disc 2: Featurettes, Animations, Music Video, Finndemonium, The Ward and Trailers.

Summary: First time around, this series is sure to be a hit with Finn and Jake and all his mates!
