Back in the previous season the battle for the land of Fairy Tail had ended with a Fantasia Parade giving us all a happy ending at least. There were many downsides, though, Laxus was sent from the Guild to everyone's surprise and Lucy keeps having bad luck with the men she chooses. Now, after the end of the harvest festival, everything looks like it is back to normal except for one thing, no one saw Laxus  being sent away. No one expected it to happen at all. The hardest hit by this was Natsu who demanded to know why from Gramps.

The Days of the Fateful Encounter has Natsu getting his angst off of his chest in front of everyone at the bar. As Laxus is a dragon slayer like Natsu, he feels he has an affinity with him and has the need to face off against him in a fight. As Gramps has banished him, he can't achieve his goal. whether Natsu wants it or not, Gramps tells him all about the origins of Laxus and there are many truths to face. In "Special Request: Watch Out For the Guy You Like," as Lucy still has no luck with men, she goes to a magic potion shop to get the man she's interested in interested in her! It's not recommended going to a shady potion shop in the first place and what occurs next is hilarious. In "Love and Lucky," Lucy seems happy, but not when a strange old man keeps following her then sneaking behind alleyways. His identity is a shocker for her that leads to her reuniting with someone from the past. This is the episode where Gray gets told off for walking around half naked and chasing girls again. Moments of fun come thick and fast and a fight between him and Natsu has them calling each other names. Though them calling each other Fire Waster and Icy Bastard might not be the best idea.

Each episode features a character we get to learn more about. At the moment it's Lucy, but Natsu and Gray tend to get a look in too, which is good. Fairy Tail is always at risk of being defeated by dark guilds and there is one man who wonders where Ultear is, but before we get to the serious bits, Natsu eats too much, Gray occasionally puts on some clothes and Lucy gets to meet someone she hasn't seen in years. More is told about the various other guilds viewers might not have known before. Fairy Tail Collection 3 is as colourful and action packed as ever, with the humorous one-liners it has been famous for and the excellent fan service for boys - and girls.

Bonus Material: Episode 49 Commentary, Episode 58 Commentary, Text less Opening Song: "Egau no Mahou," Text less Closing Song: "HOLY SHINE", English Language Trailer, Episode 64 Commentary, Episode 70 Commentary, Text less Opening Song: "Fiesta," Text less Closing Song: ".Be as One-" and US Trailer.

Verdict: Fun and with so much action - you'll not want to miss it!
