Out on DVD and Blu-ray after a decade of waiting is the new feature-length adventure, a movie that has Goku and his pals meeting a god who will challenge them to the very max.

This movie is set after the series had Majin-Buu defeated, while a new enemy comes on the scene - the God of Destruction, Beerus. Beerus has wandered far and wide looking for Goku as he has heard the tales of his previously fighting and destroying Frieza, leaving the Z Fighters to step up their game to stop the god from destroying all they know and love. Goku is the one who has to fight him, but will he be up to the challenge?

All this aside, It's Bulma's birthday and everyone is reunited for it - and everything is as it was before times got hard for out intrepid heroes. This is where the story turns from being serious to having a lot of fun and dare we say fan service as well as the characters getting witty lines that seems to expand the characters we know. Not that it's all fun and games you understand, there are battles galore and comical moments you won't want to miss out on. Beerus happens to be one of the most powerful enemies Goku has ever come across - and he's seen of plenty. He also happens to come out of hiding once every thirty years to destroy some planets, and looks a lot like the Egyptian god Anubis - which will alert some Yu-Gi-Oh! fans to its similarity.

The animation for this movie is just as good as the animation for the series, with a little extra colour and more action than expected. If you thought it was just a gathering of friends, you were wrong as the fight scenes between Goku and Beerus are some of the most involved and destructive yet. The only reason for Beerus coming to Goku is he wants a decent fight with someone he thinks might be more powerful than himself. It has been more than 17 years since the last movie, The Path to Power was released, so it isn't any wonder that fans have been patiently waiting for this. There was plenty to wait for, and the patience paid off as

This is the first time this movie has been released in the UK and as it is the Director's Cut version, there is more besides with the bonus material too.

Bonus Material: The Voices of Dragonball Z: Unveiled, Behind the Scenes: Battle of the Voice Actors, US Trailer and Text less Closing Song.

Verdict: It's what everyone's been waiting for this year - and how it's here!
