In the previous series of Dragon Ball, Goku had fiercely battled Piccolo, defeating him. Everyone is celebrating this death, the fact that their city is safe once more, Goku is able to recover in an air car while his friend, Tenshinhan gets patched up. While the celebration caries on there is one thing our hero should bear in mind; Piccolo's last words - that his child should avenge his death.

After a dangerous stint at the World Martial Arts Tournament, he doesn't think that things could get worse for him - but they can.
