Just one look at the cover should be enough to give you an idea of what to expect from this book, then again maybe not.
The young girl in question goes in and out of foster homes and doesn't seem to fit in no matter what she is lead to believe from social workers. The previous one, she seemed to think was trying to get rid of her as she saw her as a hopeless case.
Amy is lead to believe that this new foster placement will be different from the past ones, and Amy is reluctant to give her new family a chance, that is until she starts to think her life in this family might work out.
Eve gives us two accounts of Amy's life; one where she is living with her new family and one where we find out what happened to her as part of the Gibson's. I felt the very real frustration from a child who has been in and out of foster homes, only to find that Amy may have got off on the wrong foot with her new family. I enjoyed reading the story and loved how she coped with trying to find her place in the world after such a shaky start.
