YAOI PREVIEW: VAMPIRE RENT BOY: # 2 RHYMES WITH BITCH

Vampire Rent Boy #2: Rhymes with Bitch
D.L. Warner
Publisher: Sybaritic Press
Previewed by: Sandra Scholes

Synopsis:
Life for Tristan is getting stranger and stranger – quite a feat for a vampire who is centuries old. There is a coven of witches stalking him for some crime his family committed generations ago. Meanwhile, Klaus becomes convinced that Tristan is the heir to a vast fortune and holding out on him. And then, there is the trio of pale, black leather clad beings floating off the floor with hooks and pins shoved painfully in their flesh. They seem convinced that they can show Tristan wonders he has never seen.

Since they don't look like they are having any kind of fun, Tristan avoids them. But that's all at work. Life at home is better than it's ever been. Adam returns from his business trip, and they finally share a night together in bed. The sex is hotter than he could have imagined. Everything seems perfect. The only danger is that coven. Will their curse succeed in destroying Tristan before he can find true love?

From the look of the cover Tristan's fate seems to be in the hands of the coven of witches who are just waiting to strike when the time is good. Back in Vampire Rent Boy: #1 For Love and Money, his pain threshold was tested to the max with the new clients his boss was getting him - now he has Adam to keep him sane. He's finally found a man who he can settle down with, but the witches can easily come between him and happiness.

It's only just out on release, and if it's as good as the previous volume it should be one you will be proud to place on your bookshelf. I'm sure most will be wondering what the new novel is like, so I will give a brief explanation of what I found to be of interest with part of the novel.

Tristan is trying to lead as normal a life he can working as a rent boy for his pimp/manager, Klaus, but his life keeps on getting stranger with loud howling noises, darkness when it's supposed to be a bright day out, and unusual leather- wearing people wanting to offer him the way of Leviathan, and untold pleasures that would bring him bliss. Like most of us, he isn't impressed, and sends them packing, but they don't stop at that. Keiko and Kevin are real friends he wants to keep for good, so he can't neglect them - he's pining for Adam, but it's the insistent Detective who surprised me with his actions toward Tristan. The whole scenario with the two of them making out is a real eye-opener.
