In the latest of The Legion of the Damned series, When Duty Calls has Captain Santana taking the Legion out of an alien swarm that could destroy them without his guidance. After their escape from the mine, Santana feels bad about the loss of half his men and valuable supplies. When he is confronted by Commander Quinlan, he makes no excuses for his actions. He is further amazed to find that Quinlan thinks he has been too hard on himself.
