NEW MANGA REVIEW: BORUTO: NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS CHAPTER 1

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations

We all know Naruto has a destiny waiting for him at the end of his youth, but this is the story of Boruto Uzumaki, his son who wants to carve his own destiny, not necessarily become Hokage at the end of his own youth, but more than anything else he wants to be himself.

Boruto starts out by hating the fact his father is absent most of the time, and can't get over how he feels about him, despite his mother always being around. It's the age old thing of a son needing his father's approval and love, and getting none of it. Master Konohamaru is Boruto's sensei and Sarada Uchiha and Mitsuki, his friends as a three man cell. The chunin exams are coming up and Boruto sees he can try to impress his father into believing he can be as good a ninja as  he was when he was growing up.

It's also Boruto's sister's birthday, so he will get mad if his father misses this most important occasion. This first part of the manga is what kicked off the main story of the Boruto Naruto the Movie anime and doesn't disappoint fans of the original manga.  Meanwhile Katasuke is working on a new device for ninjas to use in battle, but Naruto doesn't think it's a good idea for ninja to trust in a gadget. As leader of the scientific ninja tool corps, Katasuke has other ideas, ones Naruto might not like.

The art is the same quality Naruto was and one of the fun parts of reading this start of the manga is looking and guessing who the sons and daughters are of the previous Naruto characters. Naruto doesn't like the idea of students using ninja tools, but Boruto is interested in what the ninja tools can do for him as he wants to impress his father and is unsure of his abilities.

There is a lot to be happy about with this new series and I look forward to catching up with the latest part as it has all the elements of an engaging and fun series.
