Synopsis:
Adam Ross doesn't believe in demons.  After a house fire killed his family at the tender age of twelve, he's not even sure he believes in God.  But that is about to change.  Under the light of the full moon, in 1930, rum-runners wash ashore dead on the Northern California coast amidst carnage, slashed and drained of blood.  Rumors and local Indian lore tell of the existence of creatures out at sea, demons.

Among a second rash of dead bootleggers, Adam finds Necalli, a stunning young
man with strange physical anomalies and amnesia, who arouses him beyond
belief.  Adam becomes determined to help Necalli and solve the mystery lurking in his broken memories.  Will he fall under Necalli's spell and save himself in the process?

Adam is constantly disturbed by nightmares where he is reliving the time his family died in a house fire. He thinks he would have got over it by now, but the pain of what happened won't leave his mind, even when he knows he has friends who will rally round him when he needs them. A chance meeting with a handsome young man he finds at the beach, assuming him to be dead at first, he wakes to discover Adam wants to help him back to health even though he is a man alien to the land.

From the start, Adam finds Necalli hugely attractive, and he wakes a passion inside him he can't control. He wants Necalli with all his being as well as find the truth behind Necalli's forgotten memories.

The cover is as enticing as the text, so keep in mind Christie's other novels and short stories.
